Historically, bugles, drums, and other loud musical instruments were used for clear communication in the noise and confusion of a battlefield. Bugle calls typically indicated the change in daily routines of camp. Every duty around camp had its own bugle call, and since cavalry had horses to look after, they heard twice as many signals as regular infantry. "Boots and Saddles" was the most imperative of these signals and could be sounded without warning at any time of day or night, signaling the men to equip themselves and their mounts immediately. The arrangement of the mechanism, under the present invention, is such that the clock may run for a day, or for a week, or for a month, or. for any time, and indicate the time in the usual manner with a twelve hour dial, but the switch will be turned on once a day at the desired time and will then be turned off after the lapse of a predetermined time and will remain off until the return of the same hour on the next succeeding day.”

Regardless of its function, The Jewel is exquisite and another example of a mind seeing the need, with the skill, education and training to ingeniously invent a solution. The Jewel iHorn is an understated example of the unique nature of American enterprise and history.

The Paymaster is made from a vintage Paymaster S-600 Check writing machine coupled with a vintage brass bicycle horn. Paymaster Corporation started manufacturing Paymaster check writer also referred to as a check protector, check printer, check machine, and check signer. The Paymaster check imprinter machine was commonly used for payroll to imprint the amount to protect against check fraud and check alteration. The S-600 was made in the mid to late 1960s. So protect yourself with The Paymaster iHorn.

The Model T iHorn is made using a bulb horn from a Ford Model T automobile. The Model T was produced by Ford Motor Company from 1908 to 1927. The production of the Model T was responsible for the creation of assembly line manufacturing. The standard 4-seat open tourer of 1909 cost $850; in 1913, the price dropped to $550 and $440 in 1915. Coleman immediately saw the lamp as an important step forward. Coleman arranged to sell this new type of lamp, but he met with little success because of a prior salesman’s misrepresentations. Unable to sell his lamps, Coleman hit upon the idea of leasing them for $1 per week and servicing them himself. If the lamps failed, the customer did not have to pay. Revenues skyrocketed. Ultimately Coleman purchased the rights to the lamp and the Coleman company took off. During World War I, the United States declared his lamps essential and Coleman made over one million lamps for the military and American Farmers. The company was not entirely successful in developing new products and markets.
