Defiance

The Defiance iHorn is made from a Defiance Machine Company of Rochester, New York check protection machine.  It was patened in 1897 and 1903.  The Defiance is a centurian. 

A check writer  is a physical device for protecting a check from unauthorized alteration of either the amount or the authorizing signature.  Devices of this type that use various technologies are also known as check protectors, check punches, and check perforators.  The first check protector was introduced in 1870.

The Defiance was made to defy the crook who knew how to wash a check and benefit from their criminal conduct.  But defiance means open resistance, bold disobedience.  So the question you must ask yourself is “are you defiant?”
