The Fire Fog iHorn is made a Pacific Soda Acid Fire Extinguisher coupled with a Siebe Gorman & Co. Bellows Fog Horn. It is part of the architectural series and is one of a kind. The soda-acid fire extinguisher, developed in the late 19th century, used a chemical reaction between sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and an acid (like sulfuric acid) to generate pressurized water. The device was inverted to mix the chemicals, and the resulting carbon dioxide (CO₂) gas propelled the water onto the fire. Siebe Gorman was a pioneering British engineering firm founded in 1819 by Augustus Siebe and his son-in-law Gorman. Renowned as "Submarine Engineers," they revolutionized marine salvage and deep-sea exploration by inventing the first effective closed diving helmet and pressurized suit in 1837. In the early 1900’s technology phased on Siebe Gorman’s deep sea breathing apparatus which were then converted into fog signaling devices by attaching the horn to the bellows. In the end, The Fire Fog iHorn components were made by the early 1900’s and therefore are centurions. Whether facing fire or fog, The Fire Fog iHorn is ready for every condition.
