The Flugelhorn iHorn is made from a chrome plated Flugelhorn. It is the first iHorn made from a Flugelhorn. These horns are in the class with Trumpets and Cornets, but with a more conical bore. The first valved version was sold by a company in Berlin in 1828. In German, the word “Flugel” means wing or flank and these horns were employed by the hunt leader known as the “Flugel meister” who would use the horn to direct the wings of the hunt. It’s military history was as a predecessor to the bugle. Today, they are a standard member of most jazz bands, as well in some symphonies. The Flugelhorn looks and sounds jazzy.
