The USECO iHORN is a small horn made by the United States Electric Corporation in Springfield, Massachusetts. The horn was made in the a 1920’s. Very little information exists regarding either the company or the horn. However, its diminutive size tells us that it is very rare based on original manufacturing numbers. Making The USECO even more rare is the unique and distinct paint scheme-a alligator finish which equates to high end and uniqueness. Small radio horns were purchased only by the ultra rich who could afford to have such speakers in other than their main parlor. Thus, compared to the larger diameter horns, the original manufacturing numbers were in a ratio of 1:50,000 (taking into consideration the collective industry). Thus, these smaller diameter horns fetch a premium in the collecting world.
The USECO iHorn is one of a kind and most likely will not be located again. Most probably a misjudgment of the buying community of the day, its production was most probably short lived and in extremely limited numbers. The USECO is for the discerning buyer who knows it when they see it, and realize that somethings are simply so special that the time to buy it is when you see it.
