The Kapsch & Sohne iHorn is made from a 1925-1928 Austrian radio horn which was made by Kapsch& Sohne-Telephon-und-Telegraphenfabriks in Austria.  Johann Kapsch  founded a precision engineering workshop in Vienna in September 1892, whose customers very soon included the Imperial and Royal Postal and Telegraph Administration.  In 1916, the company was converted into the Telephone and Telegraph Factory Corporation Kapsch & Sons. From 1923, Kapsch produced the first radio receivers, and the first television sets followed in 1955. After the Second World War, Kapsch played a key role in rebuilding the telephone network in collaboration with the Austrian Post Office.  The Kapsch & Sohne iHorn is small but strong.  It survived the ravages of World War II.  It is a sentinel keeping watch over both man’s inhumanity to man and the promise that such atrocities should never happen again.  The long view of experience comes with a responsibility we all must embrance.  The Kapsch & Sohne is a reminder of our collective responsibility.
