The Golden Voice iHorn is made from a Motorola 1940’s to 1950’s Golden Voice car radio speaker and a Model A car horn. Paul Galvin, owner of Galvin Manufacturing Corporation, a battery manufacturer who made a device that allowed radios to run on household current. In the 1930's the big radio companies all ended in "ola" so Galvin, who was then moving into making automobile radios, changed the name of his company to Motorola. 1950’s was a post World War II explosion of automobile production and sales with almost 58,000,000 automobiles produced and sold, compared to a total U.S. population of only 179, 323,175!
The Model A was produced by Ford Motor Company from 1928 to 1931 and was its second huge success. By February 1929, 1,000,000 Model A’s had been sold, and by July 24 of the same year, sales skyrocketed to 2,000,000. Base Model A’s were Tudor style in grey, green or black and sold for $500.00. The luxury model was the Town Car which sold by $1,200.00. When production of the Model A ended in March, 1932, 4,858,644 had been made in all body styles. The Model A proved that the automobiles were here to stay and the American way of life was forever changed.
So rock the road singing it out loud and proud, with The Golden Voice iHorn.
