Small Utah

The SMALL UTAH iHORN is a radio horn made by the Utah Radio Products Company, which was located in Chicago, Illinois.  The company was a spin off the the Baldwin Radio Company, which was located in Millcreek, Utah.  The company was often known as Utah and made loudspeakers, radio speakers, headphones, electronic components sand OEM speaker systems supplied to other manufacturers.  However, it is perhaps best known for the Utah driver, which was invented and patented by Wehrli D. Pack, who filed for and then assigned to Utah Radio Products  U.S. Patent No. 1,807,168.  Wehrli was a prominent inventor who also held the patents for a “vibratory unit” and sound propagating diaphragm.  He was a prominent man in Utah, being a legislator in the 1930s, owning a grocery store called the Pack-n-Save in Holladay, as well as serving as a church and civic leader.  He was considered an early radio pioneer and helped establish Utah has an important center for early speaker and radio manufacturings during the golden age of radio.  The SMALL UTAH iHORN blends the beauty of the old with the technological advances of the new, to produce a beautiful sound which is locally grown and made.  This one of a kind iHORN is a true piece of Utah history.
