The Soprano Sax iHorn is made from an antique Saxophone, made between 1915 and 1930 by Elkhart. Its patina speaks of the passing of substantial periods of time. The soprano saxophone was designed around 1840. It is the third smallest member of the saxophone family, which includes sopranissimo, sopranino, soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, bass, contrabass saxophone. Soprano saxophones are the smallest and thus highest-pitched saxophone in common use. In the 1840s and 1850s, saxophone's gained use in small classical ensembles (both all-saxophone and mixed), as a solo instrument, and in French and British military bands. Today, the Saxophone is used in all musical settings, from symphony to rock.
