The Cab Ride

The Cab Ride  iHorn is made from a vintage Brazilian Capelhina Taxi Fare meter coupled with a fox hunting horn.  The concept of taxis have been around since the 17^th century when horse-drawn carriages first became available for hire in London in 1605.  However, the first gas powered taxis with meters came onto the scene in 1897.  Fleets of taxis were operated in Paris in 1899, London in 1903 and New York in 1907.  The famous checker cab company was not founded until the 1950s.  In Brazil, there are more than 150,000 taxi cabs with more than half of them in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.  The Cab Ride is a one of a kind piece with a history one could only wish to know.  So hail a cab and sit back to enjoy some music while you leave the driving to the cabbie.
