The Hoyt iHorn is made from a 1920’s Hoyt Electrical Instrument Works Ammeter made in Pennacook, New Hampshire most often used in the early automotive industry. An ammeter (from Ampere Meter) is a measuring instrument used to measure the current in a circuit. Electric currents are measured in amperes, hence the name. By the late 19th century, improved instruments were designed which could be mounted in any position and allowed accurate measurements in electric power systems.
Hoyt Electrical Instrument Works was founded by Adrian Hoyt in 1904. Like a lot of early American capitalists, adaptability meant longevity and the Hoyt Electrical Instrument Works demonstrated that adaptability, still making products today employing over 100 employees. In short, Hoyt realized that diversity and change equaled financial success and longevity.
The Hoyt iHorn is small but detailed. It remains proof that we are all electric.
