The Little Jewel iHorn is an early 1900’s ammeter.  The patent was issued January 31, 1911 to Benjamin Franklin Flegel of Warren, Ohio.  An ammeter (from Ampere Meter) is a measuring instrument used to measure the current in a circuit. Electric currents are measured in amperes, hence the name. By the late 19th century, improved instruments were designed which could be mounted in any position and allowed accurate measurements in electric power systems.   The Little Jewel iHorn uses a vintage small fox hunting horn as the horn.  The Little Jewel was a tool of the trade which reminds us that technology teaches and each of us is electric!  The Little Jewel iHorn is an understated example of the unique nature of American enterprise and history.
