The Moon

The Moon  iHorn is from a 1923 Wilson Utensil Company Moon Radio Phone Loud Speaker.  It is truly a one of a kind iHorn.  It was in fact a headphone amplifier as the headphones were placed on either side of the speaker to amplify what otherwise could be heard only in the headphones.  It originally sold for $7.50, which when adjusted for inflation but not factoring in rarity nor antique value, equates to $146.92 which is a cumulative inflation rate of 1858.9%!  Wilson Utensil Company operated in Dayton, Ohio, manufacturing aluminum kitchenware and novelties.  But with the wild popularity, they moved into radios, like so many other companies.  And like so many other smalls companies who thought they would capitalize on the radio craze, it was the death of the company which failed in 1925.  Therefore, while Wilson Utensil took its shot at the moon, it fell short and burned up in the Earth’s commercial atmosphere.  Today the Moon is highly collectible and favored among radio enthusiastists.  So after a long day, sit down, relax and orbit with The Moon iHorn.
