The Thompson Alternating Ammeter iHorn is made from a General Electric Company Ammeter which was made in 1909. It is an immaculately beautiful tool used as a measuring instrument used to measure the current in a circuit. Electric currents are measured in amperes, hence the name. By the late 19th century, improved instruments were designed which could be mounted in any position and allowed accurate measurements in electric power systems. The Thompspon Alternating Ammeter iHorn uses a small fox hunting horn as the horn. The Thompson Alternating Ammeter is simply a gorgeous example of quality workmanship as both a teaching tool and a tool of the trade which reminds us that we are never to old to learn and that the world is a laboratory of fascination.
