The Westinghouse Watt Meter iHorn is an early 1940’s table top electric meter.  It was used to record electricity usage in individual dwellings, which probably permitted the landowner to either pass through the cost to the resident or alternatively limit usage.  The Westinghouse Electric Corporation was an American manufacturing company founded in 1886 by George Westinghouse and headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Westinghouse Electric was a powerhouse in heavy industry, electrical production and distribution, consumer electronics, home appliances and a wide variety of other products.  A series of downturns and management missteps in the 1970s and 80s combined with large cash balances led the company to enter the financial services business, such as mortgages.  It was a mistake that ultimately led to the further financial downfall, resulting in the sell off of assets and the merger with Viacom.  The Westinghouse Watt Meter iHorn is industrial and practical.  It is ingenuity in a form which was made in America and to survive the ravages of time.  No need to meter your reaction.
